Medical Director

Prairie Animal Hospital has been serving Lake Country in the Waukesha County community for over 40 years. Located in North Prairie, Wisconsin, Prairie Animal Hospital provides primary care, referral services, and limited emergency services for a population of approximately 100,000 in the surrounding areas.

Our Managing Veterinarian is given the authority to provide medical leadership for the hospital, manage Associate Veterinarians, lead and coach support staff, and ensure regulatory compliance relating to the practice of veterinary medicine. Our Managing Veterinarian is also a key part of creating an environment of teamwork in which quality medicine and exceptional client service are delivered.


To provide quality medicine, we are equipped with:

  • 3 exam rooms, 2 table treatment areas with a spacious and bright surgery suite
  • Digital dental radiograph
  • Digital radiography
  • Updated dental machine
  • Complete Pharmacy
  • Full in-house Idexx laboratory
  • Electronic medical records on Cornerstone (PIMS)
  • Long-term and trained support staff 
  • We offer the latest technology in online booking and online pharmacy for our clients.
  • Undergoing a full clinic remodel/refresh in 2025/2026, which will include: 
    • Dental Suite, refreshed Lobby, 2 additional exam rooms, new pharmacy area, additional workspaces, remolded doctor's office with our own private workstation, new break room, and refreshed administration office with private workstation.

Skills and Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of Wisconsin
  • Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Delegates tasks and achieves results with hospital team members
  • Makes decisions confidently and effectively
  • Leads employees by coaching, correcting, developing, and motivating them to achieve success
  • Manages time and tasks appropriately
  • Models a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients


North Prairie is in the heart of Lake Country, Wisconsin, with over 140 surrounding lakes. It is just outside of Waukesha and close to Milwaukee, Oconomowoc, and Delafield, and just 45 minutes from Madison. Being in the Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest where there are numerous hiking and biking trails as well as historic sites to explore.

Lake Country offers a country feel with a good residential housing market and great school systems. Driving to the practice, you will see small farms, horse stables, and small residential communities. There is something for everyone in the North Prairie area!
