NVA Canada is looking for a Procurement Category Specialist to join our Canadian Support Centre team based in Oakville, ON.
The Procurement Category Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing product/service categories to drive sales and profitability. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams such as Vendors/Business Partners, Marketing, Sales, Finance and US teams.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Improving growth and profitability
- Generate and analyze reports to determine savings and opportunities for the various categories.
- Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends (Pricing)
- Support in the development of long-term sustainable strategies for product categories
- Assist with the implementation and execution of strategic pricing and internal procurement processes within Canada
- Support with the RFQ process, negotiations and provide recommendations
- Foster trusting relationships with vendors to achieve growth and profitability
- Work cross functionally with Sales, Finance, and Vendors to support with Rebates tracking and other savings opportunities
- Respond to all internal inquiries and assist business stakeholders needs in gathering their requirements (Retriever system)
- Work cross functionally with Finance to report and track COGS
- Supporting on the negotiation and execution of renewals and new Contractual Agreements
- Work with US and other internal stakeholders to support with automation and process efficiencies
- Support with Oracle
- Keeping abreast of industry and market trends and best practices
What you bring:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Category Management/Procurement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with business partners (vendors) and internal departments
- Proficient with MS Office and strong Excel skills (VLookup/Pivot Tables/Formulas)
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Bachelor of Commerce Degree and a SCMP designation
- Oracle and Quickbase experience not a must but will be ideal
