The Procurement Category Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing product/service categories to drive sales and profitability. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams such as Vendors/Business Partners, Marketing, Sales, Finance and US teams.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Improving growth and profitability

• Generate and analyze reports to determine savings and opportunities for the various categories.
• Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends (Pricing)
• Support in the development of long-term sustainable strategies for product categories
• Assist with the implementation and execution of strategic pricing and internal procurement processes within Canada
• Support with the RFQ process, negotiations and provide recommendations

• Foster trusting relationships with vendors to achieve growth and profitability
• Work cross functionally with Sales, Finance, and Vendors to support with Rebates tracking and other savings opportunities
• Respond to all internal inquiries and assist business stakeholders needs in gathering their requirements (Retriever system)
• Work cross functionally with Finance to report and track COGS

• Supporting on the negotiation and execution of renewals and new Contractual Agreements
• Work with US and other internal stakeholders to support with automation and process efficiencies
• Support with Oracle
• Keeping abreast of industry and market trends and best practices

What you bring: 

• 3 to 5 years of experience in Category Management/Procurement
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with business partners (vendors) and internal departments
• Proficient with MS Office and strong Excel skills (VLookup/Pivot Tables/Formulas)
• Demonstrated analytical skills
• Bachelor of Commerce Degree and a SCMP designation
• Oracle and Quickbase experience not a must but will be ideal
