Location:  Home/Office Hybrid - Greater Toronto preferred

Annual Salary: $85,000

The Procurement Category Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing product/service categories to drive sales and profitability. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams such as Vendors/Business Partners, Marketing, Sales, Finance and US teams.

This position is a 13-month term employment contract.

What You’ll Be Doing:

     ·   Improving growth and profitability

o   Generate and analyze reports to determine savings and opportunities for the various categories.

o   Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends (Pricing)

o   Support in the development of long-term sustainable strategies for product categories

o   Assist with the implementation and execution of strategic pricing and internal procurement processes within Canada

o   Support with the RFQ process, negotiations and provide recommendations

·         Partnering for success

o   Foster trusting relationships with vendors to achieve growth and profitability

o   Work cross functionally with Sales, Finance, and Vendors to support with Rebates tracking and other savings opportunities

o   Respond to all internal inquiries and assist business stakeholders needs in gathering their requirements (Retriever system)

o   Work cross functionally with Finance to report and track COGS

·         Seeking continuous improvement:

o   Supporting on the negotiation and execution of renewals and new Contractual Agreements

o   Work with US and other internal stakeholders to support with automation and process efficiencies

o   Support with Oracle

o   Keeping abreast of industry and market trends and best practices


What You’ll Bring to NVA Canada:

·         3 to 5 years of experience in Category Management/Procurement

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with business partners (vendors) and internal departments

·         Proficient with MS Office and strong Excel skills (VLookup/Pivot Tables/Formulas)

·         Demonstrated analytical skills

·         Bachelor of Commerce Degree

·         SCMP designation is an asset

·         Oracle and Quickbase experience not a must but will be ideal

·         Power Bi and SQL knowledge
