About Us
Oakridge Equine Hospital located in Edmond, OK is looking for a full-time motivated and energetic individual to support our busy and growing twelve doctor practice that includes 5 boarded equine surgeons, 1 boarded large animal internist and 6 veterinary interns. As a high-volume equine referral practice, we are seeking a candidate who can deliver excellent patient care, naturally has an eagerness to learn, and will grow with our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with appointments, procedures and treatments.
- Monitor and care for hospitalized patients.
- Safely handle and restrain horses.
- Maintain accurate medical records and support effective client communication.
- Ensure proper cleaning, biosecurity, and restocking of equipment and supplies.
What we are looking for?
The ideal candidate must have excellent communication, organizational and people skills. A background with equine knowledge is a must in addition to strong work ethic, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and in a team environment. The ideal candidate will be someone who will demonstrate initiative and who can quickly grasp the day to day functions of a fast paced working environment.
As a veterinary technician at Oakridge Equine Hospital you will rotate through different services with each surgeon, our boarded internal medicine specialist, intensive care unit (ICU) and anesthesia. To be successful in this position the ideal candidate must be able to adapt from each service they are assigned to daily and have a strong desire to learn the ins and outs of each service they are on.
Previous experience with running anesthesia on horses is preferred. However, training will be provided on-site for candidates without previous experience.
