Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Manager

 

Kings Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Manager to join our leadership team! About the Role: 

As our RVT Manager, you’ll be both a leader and an active member of our medical team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll spend about 85% of your time on the floor working alongside the team and 15% in administrative leadership. You’ll oversee and mentor a team of roughly 20 veterinary technicians and kennel staff, while ensuring smooth daily operations, providing training and development, scheduling, and performance reviews. 

We’re looking for someone with excellent people skills, problem-solving ability, and the confidence to provide mentorship and feedback. The right candidate will have a big-picture mindset while also being comfortable jumping into patient care when needed. 

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Lead, mentor, and train the veterinary technician and support the team 

  • Manage scheduling, team dynamics, and day-to-day hospital flow 

  • Conduct staff reviews and provide in-the-moment feedback 

  • Work collaboratively with doctors and staff on cases, ensuring high-quality medicine 

  • Support a positive, inclusive culture that motivates and inspires the team 

  • Balance floor work with leadership responsibilities 

  • Engage with our community partnerships and student mentorship programs 

  •  

What We’re Looking For: 

  • 5+ years of experience in veterinary medicine 

  • 3+ years of leadership experience, preferably leading a large team 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Ability to mentor, motivate, and foster growth in others 

  • Comfortable having tough conversations when necessary 

  • A collaborative, supportive leadership style

Schedule & Compensation: 

  • 4x10-hour shifts with rotating 3-day weekends 

  • Occasional weekend coverage for special needs (e.g., inventory) 

  • Salary: $52,000 - $60,000 based on experience
