Animal Hospital of Waynesville is searching for a credentialed veterinary technician or experienced veterinary assistant to join our amazing Team – could that be you?

As well as providing excellent communication, support, and guidance to our clients. Our 7 doctor, full service, small animal practice is AAHA, AAFP, and Fear Free certified. Our doctors and staff practice the highest quality of care and utilize innovative techniques and procedures to best serve our patients and clients. We pride ourselves on providing a full spectrum of care for our patients, from PAW plans that allow our clients to afford all possible wellness & preventative care. To diagnostic and surgical services, including soft tissue surgery (regular and emergency), digital full body and dental radiographs, diagnostic ultrasound, dental prophylaxis, and more. Veterinary Technicians play an integral role in our hospital whether they are handling patient care, taking care of clients, assisting doctors in surgery, or providing quality nursing care to hospitalized patients. You will fully utilize your skillset and continue to develop your knowledge for years to come! We are looking for a compassionate technician who is ready to put their skills and leadership ability to work!

·         Compassion towards our clients. We are passionate about working with clients who may have financial constraints. While every situation is different – we do the best we can to ensure that patients are getting what they need, while being thoughtful to the clients wishes.

·         Anticipated Schedule. We are open Monday thru Friday with extended hours on Monday and Wednesday evenings and a half day on Saturdays. Our technicians rotate Saturdays, you can expect to work about one Saturday a month!

·         Compensation.  We believe that each team member should be compensated considering their knowledge, skills, and experiences. We expect the range for an experienced technician to be $17-22 per hour.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Credentialed veterinary technician or recent graduate with successful VTNE pending licensure preferred but not required – licensed technicians will be compensated accordingly
  • Previous veterinary experience required
  • Ability to execute treatment orders as directed by a DVM (to include placing IV Catheters, venipuncture, injections, anesthesia induction and monitoring, perioperative surgical nursing etc).
