Job Description

Why Detroit Dover Animal Hospital?

At Detroit Dover Animal Hospital, we believe great medicine starts with great people. As an AAHA-accredited hospital since 1970, we’ve built a reputation for delivering exceptional veterinary care while maintaining a close-knit, supportive, and drama-free team culture.

Our team isn’t just experienced, they’re committed. Many of our staff members have been with us for 5, 10, or even 20+ years. That kind of longevity speaks volumes about who we are.

We take pride in:

  • Fostering a positive, team-first environment
  • Staying deeply connected to our community through partnerships with local police, shelters, and rescues
  • Knowing when to work hard and when to have fun

About the Role

We’re looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who is not only skilled, but also aligned with our culture.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be fully utilized and supported by leadership that values collaboration, growth, and open communication.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform technical skills such as blood draws, IVC placement, and monitoring anesthesia
  • Help maintain a calm, fear-free environment for patients and clients

Who We’re Looking For

We’re hiring for attitude and team fit just as much as skill.

You’ll thrive here if you are:

  • A team player who shows up, supports others, and communicates well
  • Passionate about quality medicine and patient care
  • Comfortable in surgery and dentistry (or eager to grow in these areas)
  • Someone who values a positive and supportive workplace
  • Experienced (1–2 years preferred), but new grads with strong technical foundations are encouraged to apply

Schedule

We offer flexibility and work with you to create a schedule that fits your life:

  • Hours:
    • Mon–Thurs: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
    • Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
    • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Rotating weekends (every 2nd or 3rd weekend)
  • Combination of morning and afternoon shifts

Compensation & Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package:
    • Medical, Dental, Vision
    • 401(k)
    • CE allowance
    • License reimbursement
    • Uniform allowance
  • Supportive, hands-on leadership with an open-door policy
  • A workplace where your voice matters—and your growth is supported

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Work alongside a tenured, supportive team
  • Be part of a hospital where culture truly comes first
  • Grow your skills in a state-of-the-art, full-service practice
  • Make an impact in a hospital that’s deeply rooted in its community
