Senior Accountant, NVA
National Veterinary Associates (NVA™) is the largest private owner of freestanding veterinary hospitals in the United States. NVA owns over 1,000 companion animal veterinary hospitals and boarding facilities worldwide. Under the direction of the Inventory Accounting Manager and as a member of the overall Accounting Team, the Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for performing review and performance of various accounting, financial, and other administrative tasks to support the accounting team.
Job description:
• Review monthly journals for a portfolio of locations prepared by peer accountants, ensuring data accuracy while applying expense recognition guidance.
• Directly prepare and record other monthly journal entries and accruals.
• Assist with quarterly inventory count procedures, schedules and compiling count sheets.
• Manage rebate accounting and reporting process with multiple vendors while working parallel with the Procurement team to prepare monthly roll forwards and journal entries.
• Develop and implement detailed accounting procedures by documenting the current steps and recommending changes.
• Assist with preparation of yearly audit schedules for external auditors.
• Field significant amount of ad hoc analysis from various internal customers.
• Mentor junior staff and answer questions to help improve performance.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a Bachelor’s degree in Business with emphasis in Accounting required.
• 4+ years experience in accounting or related field.
• Experience in reviewing work of 1 or more staff accountants.
• Proficient in understanding of GAAP.
• Strong with Microsoft Excel formulas and functions (LOOKUP formulas, Power Query, Pivot Tables).
• Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.

Compensation:
The annual compensation range for the position is between $85,000 - $95,000
