Senior Accountant, NVA
National Veterinary Associates (NVA™) is the largest private owner of freestanding veterinary hospitals in the United States. NVA owns over 1,000 companion animal veterinary hospitals and boarding facilities worldwide. Under the direction of the Inventory Accounting Manager and as a member of the overall Accounting Team, the Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for performing review and performance of various accounting, financial, and other administrative tasks to support the accounting team.
As a member of the Finance / Accounting Team, the Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for performing various accounting functions, financial analysis, and other ad-hoc tasks to support management.
Job Tasks:
- Assist with DVM Labor Analyses for VP of Accounting and CFO
- Prepare month-end close related journal entries
- Develop and implement accounting/analysis procedures by examining current procedures, recommending changes
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations including transactions from up to 5 payroll systems
- Prepare and book intercompany journal entries
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare yearly audit schedules for external auditors
- Assist with maintenance and preparation of DVM production accruals
- Assist in other ad-hoc analysis or analytics as needed
- Occasional overtime may be required, particularly during month-end close and audit periods
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics, or a Bachelor’s degree in Business with emphasis in Accounting/Finance required
- 4+ years’ experience in accounting or related field
- Experience working in a large corporate environment or similarly complex organizational structure
- Intermediate understanding of GAAP
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, nested functions, data validation, and large dataset manipulation
- Extensive experience working with high-volume, complex financial data—ability to organize, analyze, and draw insights from large and dynamic data sets efficiently and accurately
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, MBA, or equivalent
- Mix of private and public experience

Compensation:
The annual compensation range for the position is between $85,000 - $98,500
