Position Summary
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Senior Finance Manager to join our dynamic finance team. Reporting directly to the VP, Finance, this role is critical in delivering key financial insights, managing cross-functional collaboration, and driving business performance. This role will focus on partner relationship management, and M&A integration and valuation as well as GL accounting, while also contributing to external reporting and compliance activities.
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a multi-site environment and has a genuine interest in supporting mission-driven teams across the veterinary care landscape.
Key Responsibilities
1. M&A and Integration Support:
- Assist in financial due diligence and integration planning for new acquisitions.
- Be the key Canada Finance partner to new hospitals
- Prioritize and manage ticketed finance workflows from newly acquired entities, providing hands-on support and escalation to ensure smooth onboarding and early-stage integration.
- Ensure alignment of acquired entities with NVA Canada’s financial systems and cultural values.
2. GL & Close:
- Support month-end close activities, including review of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure newly integrated entities have clean, consistent, and clearly communicated financial reporting aligned with NVA Canada standards.
3. Relationship Management:
- Act as a financial advisor to joint venture partners, hospital managers, and veterinarians.
- Build trust and communicate financial insights clearly in high-stress, care-driven environments.
4. Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare external reporting, including Statistics Canada surveys, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Uphold financial controls and process documentation in compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Qualifications
- CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional designation required.
- 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A and exposure to M&A.
- Experience in multi-site or service-based environments; healthcare or veterinary services is an asset.
- Strong financial modeling, Excel, and data visualization skills (e.g., Power BI, Power Query).
- Clear communicator with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence and adaptability in high-care environments.
- Experience with external reporting, such as Statistics Canada surveys, is a plus.

Compensation
- Salary range: $140,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience
- Eligible for annual incentive bonus
