NVA Canada is looking for a self-driven, trusted and conscientious Sr HRIS Analyst - Contract to support our HRIS implementation project. You’re an expert in HRIS systems and ready to oversee databases, software, computer systems that NVA Canada uses to manage our human resources platform, including a payroll interface, pension/benefits and IT systems. You are multi-faceted with a great mix of creativity and critical thinking skills, which enables you to succeed in a highly collaborative and fast-paced work environment. 


The Sr HRIS Analyst will report directly to the HRIS Manager. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.


Job Summary


The Sr HRIS Analyst will monitor, maintain, reconcile and report People (HR) Data in Ceridian Dayforce/Payworks, ensuring data integrity, consistency and usability. If you enjoy interfacing with vendors and are ready to respond to complex and escalated inquiries from leaders, management teams and staff members, then we are looking for you.

Job Duties and Responsibilities


Dayforce Implementation

  • Assist in the preparation of Standard Operating Procedures and other documentation required to support projects
  • Support Change management and education by building training for end users and Payroll/HR team users
  • Provide system expertise and counsel regarding employee changes, payroll and benefits
  • Control system access for employees – new hires, changes, terminations
  • Participate in ongoing HRIS project team, inclusive of SMEs for continuous improvement efforts
  • Confirm accuracy and integrity of all data entered, maintains data in HRIS systems and databases and assures information is available on a timely basis.
  • Work closely with program owners to ensure end user training documentation is accessible to HR and end users to ensure practices are consistently maintained Participate in the completion of data conversion, UAT, and go-live


Day to Day

  • Participate in special projects with HR team as directed. May supervise, direct, monitor or coordinate actions of project team members
  • Prepare Standard Operating Procedures and other documentation required to support projects
  • Act as a primary contact for assigned function with outside organizations or other departments; responds to technical and administrative questions and ensures commonly asked inquiries are built into training and documented appropriately
  • Assist in preparation of reports, graphs, charts, and statistics in support of human resources operations
  • Provide system expertise and counsel regarding employee changes, payroll and benefits
  • Deliver routine daily/weekly/monthly reporting and responds to basic to intermediate ad hoc data requests
  • Conduct data analysis on HR data such as compensation, classification, employment, employee relations, and/or benefits data as directed
  • Perform group data updates, exports, imports, clean-ups, and research/reports on any data discrepancies.
  • Control system access for employees – new hires, changes, terminations
  • Confirm accuracy and integrity of all data entered, maintains data in HRIS systems and databases and assures information is available on a timely basis
  • Be the Functional expert and front-line support for associated functional area. Point of escalation for identified technology related queries and issues.
  • Review requirements and pro-actively monitor new features released by Dayforce, recommending adoption plans if appropriate and when aligned to enterprise strategy
  • Process Benefits/Pension changes in Payworks


Qualifications required

  • Associate degree in related discipline required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for degree.
  • 5+ years of professional HRIS experience required, with responsibility for supporting large multi-site organizations.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Access, Outlook) and working knowledge of HR policies and practices required.
  • Experience with Payworks and Ceridian/Dayforce for HRIS and Payroll is preferred.
  • Prior experience with high growth organization/high volume mergers and acquisitions is an asset.
  • Ability to collaborate within a group to organize and prioritize work, handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Capable of maintaining confidential information and matters with discretion.
  • Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with HRIS and Payroll systems required.
