Position Summary:

The Strategic Sourcing Lead – Indirect will be a key member of the Indirect Procurement team, reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Manager- Indirect. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies across multiple indirect categories, including but not limited to Marketing, Fleet, Travel, Real Estate, Construction, Capital Equipment, Professional Services, and Finance.

This role will lead strategic sourcing initiatives from opportunity identification through supplier selection, contracting, and implementation. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical backed category expertise, cross-functional collaboration skills, and commercial acumen to deliver value, improve operational efficiency, and support the long-term business goals of NVA group.


Key Responsibilities:

Category Strategy & Execution

  • Serve as the subject matter expert across assigned indirect categories.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies, including spend analysis, market benchmarking, supplier consolidation, and budgeting alignment.
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities through competitive sourcing, demand management, and process enhancements.
  • Deliver measurable value through TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) analysis, should-cost modeling, and contract optimization.

Sourcing & Contracting

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives including RFx development, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract execution.
  • Negotiate pricing and business terms with suppliers; conduct industry benchmarking to drive cost reduction and supplier value.
  • Draft and review contract terms in collaboration with Legal and ensure alignment with procurement policies and risk standards.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong internal partnerships with stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to departments including Finance, IT, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with strategic suppliers to assess performance and drive improvements.
  • Ensure contract compliance, service-level delivery, and vendor performance across assigned categories.

Procurement Transformation & Support

  • Support procurement transformation initiatives by leading change management efforts, stakeholder training, and adoption of best practices.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic sourcing pipeline, aligning future initiatives with enterprise priorities.
  • Mentor peers by sharing category knowledge and sourcing expertise to build organizational capability.

Key Objectives:

  • Deliver sustainable cost savings and operational efficiencies across key indirect spend areas.
  • Improve supplier performance, compliance, and innovation through strategic vendor management.
  • Enhance sourcing process effectiveness and transparency through tools, reporting, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Support the long-term sourcing pipeline and align strategies with NVA’s growth objectives.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, or a related field required.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management, with a strong track record in indirect categories.
  • Proven experience leading initiatives in categories such as IT, Finance, Professional Services, Travel, or Capital Equipment.
  • Strong expertise in commercial negotiation and contract development; familiarity with procurement law and risk terms.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Financial acumen including experience with TCO, cost modeling, and business case development.
  • Expertise in strategic sourcing methodologies (e.g., 7-step sourcing, agile procurement).
  • Strong influencing and communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Highly organized self-starter capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and G-Suite; experience with procurement and analytics platforms.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience using eSourcing tools (e.g., Scout, Iasta, Ariba, iValua).
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Experience working with ERP systems like Oracle, SAP, or JDE.
  • Background in healthcare, veterinary, or multi-site industries is a plus.
Compensation: Base salary of $105,000 with opportunity for annual incentive.
