With a supportive staff, a full ICU, and specialists who are leaders in their fields, SCVIM is dedicated to excellence—for our patients, clients, and team alike.
We are seeking a Support Veterinarian (Non-Specialist) to join our Internal Medicine and Oncology service. This unique role is designed to provide care for established patients, support our board-certified specialists, and help bridge access for referral cases.
About the Role
- Collaborate closely with 6 Internists, 1 Oncologist, and 1 Support Veterinarian in a referral-only setting.

- Manage stable and ill oncology and internal medicine cases, including rechecks and cases needing timely evaluation when a specialist is unavailable.
- Support continuity of care for clients and patients while helping guide cases to the appropriate specialty service.

- Not an emergency or urgent care role—appointments are referral-only and typically scheduled 1–3 days in advance.
- Not a general practice position.
- No surgical cutting; limited to fast-scan ultrasound, diagnostic authorizations, and inpatient care under specialist direction.
Compensation & Benefits
- Production-based compensation model with take-home potential of $140,000–$250,000 annually.
- Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- 401(k) with employer contributions.
- Paid time off, continuing education allowance, and professional dues coverage.
- Supportive workplace programs, wellness initiatives, and opportunities for flexible/remote work for some staff.
Why SCVIM?
- 25 years of service and strong community reputation.
- Longstanding leadership—our original founder and many senior team members remain active, including staff with 20+ year tenures.
- Recognized with the 2023 Ethos Elite Award and 2025 Ethos Presidential Award.
- Supportive, stable workplace culture with robust staff support programs; we stay fully staffed and often have a waitlist to join our team.
- Opportunities to collaborate across other specialties and learn alongside respected leaders in the field.
- Ideal for veterinarians considering a specialty residency in the future—this role can be a successful stepping stone.
Position Details
