JOB TITLE: Systems Engineer

BRIEF JOB SUMMARY: NVA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer II to support the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of our technology infrastructure. This role has a strong focus on Microsoft 365 services, including administration, architecture, and engineering across Exchange Online, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.

This position will also contribute to broader infrastructure efforts including Azure, VMware, VDI environments, Active Directory, domain management, and certificate services. The Systems Engineer II will play a key role in automating tasks, reducing administrative overhead, and ensuring the security, availability, and performance of systems.

This individual will work closely with senior engineers, cross-functional teams, vendors, and security/compliance partners to align technology solutions with business needs and company policies. The role requires strong technical expertise, effective communication skills, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
 
Responsibilities
• Implement, manage, and support enterprise technology infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
• Administer, maintain, and optimize M365 environments, including user lifecycle management, mail flow, collaboration tools, and storage solutions.
• Support architecture and engineering efforts for Microsoft 365, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security best practices.
• Assist in the implementation and management of Azure, VMware, VDI, Active Directory, domain management, and certificate services.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business requirements and deliver technology solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and service issues across infrastructure and M365 platforms.
• Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to support system integrations and ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
• Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
 
Qualifications
Candidates will be evaluated primarily upon their ability to demonstrate the competencies required to be successful in the role, as described above. For reference, the typical work experience and educational background of candidates in this role are as follows:
• Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role.
• Strong experience with Microsoft 365 administration and support, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of Azure, VMware, VDI, Active Directory, domain management, and certificate services.
• Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell) in M365 and infrastructure environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
 
Other Requirements
• Individual must live in North America.
• Individual must be willing to travel twice a year for team training and team building.
• Individual must have a personal work location that allows for uninterrupted audio and video calls.
• Individual’s personal work location must have consistent and reliable Internet connectivity.
 
Preferred Qualifications
• Deep familiarity with Microsoft 365 ecosystem and administration best practices.
• Experience with Azure AD / Entra ID, identity and access management, and conditional access policies.
• Experience with Microsoft Teams voice, conferencing, and collaboration solutions.
• Experience with SharePoint Online and OneDrive governance and data lifecycle management.
• Experience with Azure cloud services.
• Experience with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware and VDI solutions.
• Experience with Active Directory, domain management, and certificate services.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, VMware).
• Familiarity with IT security standards and compliance regulations.

Compensation: This is an exempt position with an expected salary range of $105,000 - $120,000 + bonus.
