Overview:
NVA is seeking a Tax Supervisor to join our team. Under direct supervision of the Tax Manager, this role will be responsible for the preparation and the review of income tax related work papers and filings. This role will also assist the Director of Tax Technology with various tax technology functions as outlined below. We are looking for someone who takes ownership and pride in their work and who has an open-mind and positive attitude.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare corporate and partnership federal, state, and local income tax returns
- Review and prepare quarterly estimated tax payments and tax return extensions
- Develop, motivate, and train staff level team members
- Supervise staff and/or consultants tasked with the preparation of assigned entity tax returns and projects
- Liaise with finance and accounting personnel to collect and analyze financial information for assigned business operations
- Develop an understanding of the business for assigned entities
- Assist with responses to taxing authority inquiries
- Work with legal personnel to understand various transactions and their impact to entity structure
- Reconcile tax basis of fixed assets, calculate tax depreciation, and prepare fixed asset rollforwards
- Provide tax support to other corporate and operating groups
- Assist with various tax projects as assigned relating to tax audits and tax planning
- Perform data analytics and propose best process/technology
- Assist with tax technology functions such as systems design, integration, reporting initiatives and system administration
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field
- 4+ years of income tax experience in public accounting
- Knowledge of U.S. Federal and state income tax compliance
- Proficiency with OneSource and Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills
- Self-directed, detail oriented, problem solver, strong analytical skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks to meet internal and external deadlines
- Strong data management skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Taxation, Accounting or MBA
- CPA

The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $125,000.
