Live Boldly, Practice Confidently – Urgent Care Veterinarian Opening in Anchorage, AK

Pet Emergency Treatment (PET) is proud to be Alaska’s premier 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital, with our Pet Urgent Care facility located just a mile down the road to better serve our growing community. Located in stunning Anchorage, nestled between the rugged Chugach Mountains and the Cook Inlet, our AAHA-accredited hospital is a trusted partner for pet owners and referring veterinarians across the region.

As we expand our on-site specialty services—including Internal Medicine and Advanced Imaging—we’ve continue to partner with our dedicated Urgent Care service to address non-life-threatening, same-day needs. This is a rare opportunity to practice meaningful medicine in a fast-paced environment—without the pressure of overnights or critical emergencies—all while living in one of the most breathtaking places in the country.

Are You a Fit?
Are you a GP veterinarian looking to get away from a schedule filled with routine wellness visits and vaccinations—but not quite ready to manage the most critical emergencies? Or an ER doctor looking for variety in cases without the stress of overnights? This could be the perfect in-between.

We are currently hiring for a full or part-time or flexible Urgent Care Veterinarian position, ideal for:

-Experienced GPs or ER clinicians
-Those who thrive on variety and same-day care

You’ll manage non-critical urgent cases, such as:

-Skin lacerations
-Limping or minor injuries
-Vomiting and GI upset
-Ear and eye infections
-Mild dermatologic and allergic reactions
-And best of all — no overnights.

You’ll also have peace of mind knowing that if a case exceeds urgent care capabilities, our 24/7 sister emergency hospital is just blocks away, with on-site specialists including Internal Medicine for additional support.

What You'll Get:

-Daytime or evening shifts only — no overnights!
-Flexible scheduling that fits your lifestyle
-Competitive hourly base + production
-Full benefits, including paid individual health insurance (for full-time only)
-401(k) with employer match
-Continuing Education allowance
-Generous PTO and sick time
-Compassionate Care Funds to support clients in need
-Membership to The Alaska Club (statewide wellness centers)
-Personal pet care discounts
-Signing or relocation bonus — we’ll help you make the move!

Our Urgent Care Facility:

PET Urgent Care is designed specifically for same-day, non-emergent cases and client convenience. You’ll be supported by a highly skilled team in a well-equipped, modern space:

-4 exam rooms + large treatment area
-In-house diagnostics, including Idexx Catalyst, CBC, urinalysis, cytology, and ELISA
-Digital radiography (with remote specialty review for all cases)
-Complete pharmacy, OTC products, and prescription diets
-Dedicated Licensed Veterinary Technician, with additional trained assistants and kennel staff
-You’ll also have access to the full resources of our sister emergency and specialty hospital, including CT, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, and 24/7 technical support.
