Veterinarian – GP and Surgery

Premier Veterinary Medical Group - Rockville Centre

Job Description

At Premier Veterinary Medical Group, we’re not just filling a role — we’re creating a space for a surgically driven veterinarian to shine. Our hospital is fully equipped and ready to support a doctor who wants to do more in the OR, from complex soft tissue procedures to surgical innovation that elevates our entire practice.

If surgery is your favorite day of the week, let’s make it more than just one day.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver comprehensive care, including wellness, internal medicine, and preventive services

  • Split your schedule between general appointments and surgery days, with room to grow the surgical side

  • Perform soft tissue surgeries beyond routine — think splenectomies, foreign body removals, cystotomies, amputations, and more

  • Manage hospitalized patients and collaborate on complex treatment plans

  • Partner with skilled LVTs and surgical support staff who keep the OR running smoothly

Why This is a Surgeon’s Dream Role

  • Two dedicated surgical suites with three fully equipped tables

  • A surgical equipment allowance of up to $75,000 — get the tools you want, the way you want them

  • Room to build out and expand our surgical services with your expertise and interests

  • Tenured, confident techs who assist seamlessly with anesthetic monitoring, pain management, and patient prep

  • An environment that encourages case diversity and professional growth, not just “routine” days

Whether you're already performing advanced procedures or looking to sharpen your surgical edge with strong mentorship and equipment — this role gives you freedom, flexibility, and support.

Why Join Premier Veterinary Medical Group?

  • Modern surgical suites and a dedicated dental suite with brand-new equipment

  • Experienced, collaborative support team and long-tenured LVTs

  • A focus on quality over quantity — no assembly-line medicine here

  • Supportive leadership that invests in your surgical interests

  • Strong culture of education, trust, and teamwork

What We’re Looking For

  • DVM/VMD degree and license in good standing

  • 2+ years of experience in general practice with a clear enthusiasm for surgery

  • Comfort with both routine and more advanced soft tissue procedures

  • Team-focused mindset and strong communication skills

About the Area

Rockville Centre (RVC) is a charming, walkable village in Nassau County with a vibrant downtown, weekly events, and easy access to NYC (just 35 minutes via the Long Island Railroad). You’ll enjoy coastal living with parks, trails, farmers markets, and outdoor concerts — perfect for work-life balance.
