Established in the North Scottsdale Foothills, Pima North Animal Hospital is a small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care for cats and dogs. Our practice also provides professional grooming services and offers luxury boarding to allow pets to live long, healthy, and fulfilling lives. Our hospital proudly maintains American Animal Hospital Association Accreditation and Feline Friendly status.

Pima North is a large beautiful 4-doctor hospital looking for the right Associate DVM to enhance our culture and our medical program. We provide quality diagnostics to our clients through our team’s extensive medical experience along with the use of our in-house laboratory, radiology and ultrasound. We have a complete surgical suite with complex multi-modal monitoring systems, laser technology, endoscopy, electrocautery and the safest inhalant anesthetic offered. Our medical team holds high medical standards and strives to practice exceptional care. We have a skilled team of veterinary technicians and assistants dedicated to helping provide quality care and compassion.

What We Offer

At Pima North, we provide reasonable schedules to allow for a good work-life balance. Doctors work a 4-day work week with hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and rotating every third Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Our practice is closed on Sundays and all major holidays.

Job Summary

In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, the Associate Veterinarian is an invaluable member of the hospital team working directly with the Medical Director and supporting medical staff in the practice. This individual advances the quality of medicine in the practice and builds strong relationships with our clients and patients.


Job Responsibilities

  • Builds rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with their concerns
  • Performs physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort
  • Communicates with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs
  • Maintains client/patient medical/surgical records and makes certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols
  • Stays current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine
  • Assists in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service
  • Presents a positive image of the hospital in the professional community and to the general public


Skills and Basic Qualifications

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or related degree from an accredited university
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which applicant is to be employed
  • Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Works collaboratively with hospital team members
  • Makes decisions confidently and effectively
  • Manages time and tasks appropriately
  • Models a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients
  • Commitment to ongoing educational development and growth
