Sahuaro Vista Veterinary Clinic in Tucson, Arizona is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to add to our team!

Established in 1989, Sahuaro Vista Veterinary Clinic is proud to serve the residents of the Northwestern Greater Tucson area of Arizona. Managing Veterinarian, Dr. Andrew Carlton, and associate veterinarians, Dr. Rachel Temkin and Dr. Precious Bagdonas, along with their team of skilled and experienced veterinary technicians and assistants are looking for an additional Associate Veterinarian to join our team and help continue to grow our practice.
We are AAHA accredited and work hard to provide our pets with the latest in veterinary medicine and care techniques. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. SVVC includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-hospital dental suite, in-hospital x-ray and ultrasound capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and a separate closely supervised quarantine area for those cases in need.
Sahuaro Vista recognizes the need for alternative therapy for our four legged companions and have added K-Laser Class IV therapeutic laser treatments for advanced pain relief and enhanced tissue healing. Qualifications include:
- Candidate must be a graduate from an AVMA accredited college or have successfully passed the ECFVG certification program or the PAVE certification program
- Licensure in good standing to practice in Arizona.
- The ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members.
- A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine, upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
- A positive and enthusiastic attitude.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
- Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet’s problems; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.
- Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient.
- Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend Continuing Education meetings and complete at least 10 hours of accredited CE per year.
- Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
- Positively represent the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
