Veterinarian

West Hills Animal Hospital

Job Description

Associate Veterinarian – West Hills Animal Hospital

Join a thriving, modern practice in the heart of the San Fernando Valley — just 30 minutes from downtown LA! Founded in 2004, West Hills Animal Hospital has grown from a small 2-doctor practice into a multimillion-dollar hospital that's still expanding today. We specialize in small animal medicine, surgery, and emergency care for dogs and cats, and we're proud of the reputation we've built for high-quality, compassionate medicine.

State-of-the-art facilities, including:

  • A fully equipped surgical suite
  • New IDEXX in-house laboratory
  • Digital radiography and digital dental X-ray
  • Premier GE ultrasound (2020)
  • In-house microscopy
  • A paper-light practice running on Avimark, with digital mobility between exam rooms and treatment areas, digital whiteboards, and computerized recordkeeping

And we're not slowing down — a full hospital expansion and renovation is on the horizon, doubling our footprint to give our team even more room and resources to provide top-notch care.

A team that sticks around
We're a fast-paced, 3-doctor practice, but our size doesn't tell the whole story — many of our staff members have been with us for 5 to 17 years! That kind of loyalty speaks for itself. We credit our low turnover to a genuinely family-like culture, strong leadership from our doctors, and management that actually has your back.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary: $150,000–$180,000 (based on experience) + production
  • 401(k) with matching
  • Full health benefits (medical, dental, vision)
  • Continuing education allowance
  • Malpractice coverage
  • License renewal and professional association dues covered
  • Real work/life balance — 4-day work weeks, closed Sundays (hospital hours are 8am–4pm, 6 days a week)
  • Supportive, hands-on management
  • Mentorship for veterinarians at every career stage

Life in West Hills, CA
West Hills is a small, safe neighborhood in LA County with a welcoming, diverse community and easy access to the outdoors. You're walking distance from the foothills, local shops, and restaurants — with beaches, mountains, and the energy of city life all within reach.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be graduates of an AVMA-accredited veterinary college, or have successfully completed the ECFVG or PAVE certification program.
