Friendship Hospital for Animals, in beautiful Fort Collins, Colorado, is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our Friendship family.  Established in 1997, we are a AAHA accredited, 6-doctor, small animal (and some exotics) practice that utilizes a fear-free focus to provide the highest standard of client and patient care.  We specialize in comprehensive canine and feline dentistry, diagnostic excellence, innovative pain management, urgent care, hospitalization, laser therapy, surgical services, dental prophylaxis and surgery, diagnostic imaging and ultrasound.

About You

  • PT or FT Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university with a minimum of two years in-practice experience.
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in Colorado, or obtainment of license by start date.
  • Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Delegates tasks and achieves results with hospital team members.
  • Works collaboratively with hospital team members
  • Makes decisions confidentially and effectively.
  • Models a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Builds rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with their concerns
  • Performs physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort. 
  • Communicates with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs. 
  • Maintains client/patient medical/surgical records and makes certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols.
  • Stays current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine. 
  • Assists in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service. 
  • Presents a positive image of the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.

 Competitive annual base salary for fulltime: 100,000-120,000 plus production based on experience.
