Veterinary Anesthesiologist

Bulger Veterinary Hospital

Job Description

Bulger Veterinary Hospital is seeking a second full-time board-certified or residency trained Veterinary Anesthesiologist to join our exceptional 24/7 Emergency, General Practice and Specialty referral hospital in Lawrence, MA.

Bulger has a highly team-oriented, friendly, and collaborative culture. We strive to provide this same environment for our clients and patients, so that they are an equal partner in decision making and their pet's medical care. We are looking for an energetic, personable individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills to contribute to our multi-specialty veterinary team.

Our 16,500 square foot hospital, with an additional expansion in progress, is located 26 miles north of Boston. We offer specialty care in Diagnostic Imaging, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, and Critical Care, as well as a busy Emergency service and General Practice with associated dental services. The hospital is supported by nearby Ethos hospitals with Neurology, Dermatology, Oncology and compounding pharmacy. Our equipment includes a 64 slice Toshiba Aquilion CT scanner, digital radiography and digital dental radiography.

Currently, the Anesthesiology caseload is served by a full-time Diplomate. We need additional anesthesiology coverage for both scheduled and emergency caseloads in our growing department. Routine locoregional techniques aided by a point-of-care ultrasound machine and nerve stimulator are expected. Our hospital has approximately 40 anesthesiologist-trained technicians with ongoing education and skill-maintenance programs.

Whatever you like to do when you’re not supervising cases, you can probably find it nearby. Boston, just a half hour south, is a vibrant city with championship sports teams. The beach is a half hour to the east, and the White Mountains of New Hampshire are two hours north with additional mountain-based activities available starting half an hour to the west.
