Job Description


Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists is currently seeking a board-certified Veterinary Anesthesiologist with an interest to join our dedicated team! Our 60,000 sq-ft hospital hosts specialty practices in Surgery, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Radiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, Radiation Oncology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology and Allergy, as well as Avian and Exotics supported by our Anesthesiology service. We practice high level anesthesia with dedicated staff and specialized equipment including an ultrasound for peripheral nerve blocks and assessment of cardiac function, several advanced ventilators including the WATO EX-20VET, and a dedicated endoscope for one lung ventilation and intubation. Our hospital has 64- slice CT capable of cardiac gating, 1.5T MRI, stand alone and point of care radiography, C-arm, ultrasound, endoscopy, cystoscopy, electrodiagnostic equipment, I131 treatment, and a Varian Halcyon radiation therapy system capable of advanced radiation therapy modalities. In addition to the specialty services, we have a 24/7/365 emergency service with a team of dedicated ER doctors and Criticalists. We also have an in-house social work team to support our clients and our staff.

With a focus on education, we have an active rotating intern, specialty intern, and residency program, and there are abundant opportunities to interact with the general practitioners in the area through monthly rounds meetings and our annual symposium. We also strive to support our community through partnerships with shelters, rescues, and community projects of concern to our team members. Furthermore, there are opportunities for leadership and clinical research.
