WHO ARE WE? NVS is a 24/7 veterinary specialty and emergency hospital. We are in a recently expanded 24,000 square foot hospital with digital radiography, computed tomography (CT), on-site magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, endoscopy, access to an on-site commercial laboratory, and more. Our primary focus is to honor the human-animal bond in all we do, focusing on patient care, client experience, and the health of our team. Position Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize patient care and client experience by providing gold standard treatment
  • Check-in all ER patients into Smartflow, Ezyvet, and Cubex
  • Perform basic triage on all incoming ER cases and determine appropriate acuities
  • Obtain signatures from clients for estimates
  • Input basic history and start history template in Ezyvet
  • Supports front desk staff
  • Obtain and attach patient records if not done so already
  • Discharge patients when needed
  • Be a liaison between ER and front desk teams, including answer questions and handling patient related issues
  • Determine if patient needs ER or Urgent Care
  • Aid technical floor staff with STATs
  • Answers incoming ER phone calls
  • Complete Cubex competency test
  • Stay up to date on DEA/controlled drug laws in Tennessee and federally and implement
  • Report medication errors and patient concerns directly to Patient Care Manager
  • Complete all training with assigned trainer
  • If a patient is identified as a STAT and they are at home - Invite them to the hospital
  • If a patient is identified as a STAT and they are in the parking lot - call a STAT/take patient the treatment area


Qualifications:

  • Highly skilled in veterinary triage, diagnostics and nursing
  • Must have a strong veterinary medical knowledge and a detailed understanding of common disease processes and pharmacology
  • Must  be able to perform quick  and efficient diagnostics, treatment, and procedures
  • Must be exemplary in customer service, critical thinking, team-oriented attitude
  • Have at least 3+ year(s) of veterinary hospital experience or combination of experience and education
  • Licensed Technicians preferred but not required
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus


Anticipated Schedule:

  • Consistent Three 12-hour Shifts/Week
  • Daytime, Swing and Overnight Positions are available! 

Compensation:

  • Range is $21-$48 DOE, commensurate with experience
  • $4.50 Shift Differential/Weekend Differential Available
