Job Description

Seven Bends Veterinary Hospital seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team! This is a full-time position and the ideal candidate will have a minimum of one-year experience in a similar role. If you are passionate about animals and dedicated to exceptional client service, our hospital may be the right fit for you!

 

We are a busy general practice providing exceptional care to small animal patients (cats & dogs) five day per week, Monday - Friday with no weekends or late evenings required. Our hospital is a beautiful 9,500 sq. ft. state of the art facility with tenured veterinarians and support staff. We offer a wide range of benefits, to include health insurance, paid time off, and pet care. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

- Assisting Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians and/or other Veterinary Assistants with patient care and treatment.

 

- Assisting clients with their pets.

 

- Rooming clients and patients with warmth and enthusiasm.

 

- Maintain inventory and stocking of exam rooms and treatment area.

 

- Clean/disinfect cages/kennels, exam rooms and treatment areas of hospital.

 

- Restraint of patients during examination and treatment.

 

- Aiding with routine diagnostic tests (i.e. obtaining blood, fecal and/or urine samples, performing radiographs, processing bloodwork, microscopic reading of fecal samples).

 

- Invoicing charges for services rendered.

 

- Filling prescription orders to include proper labeling.

 

- Monitor/aid hospitalized patients and post-operative patients.

 

- Cleaning, sterilization and preparation of surgical instruments/equipment.

 

- Administering medications and other treatments under veterinarian direction and/or supervision.

 

- Assist with incoming calls as needed while providing responsive service and support to clients. 

 

- Collect and manage patient records with confidentiality and attention to detail.

 

- Cross-trained to schedule appointments, handle billing inquiries, and process payments.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

- Minimum of one-year experience working in a veterinary setting or animal care.

 

- Experience in customer service or client care.

 

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to make clients feel welcome and at ease.

 

- Proficient in using computers and standard office software.

 

- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.

 

- A compassionate nature and a genuine love for animals.

 

 

Requirements:

 

- Must be a minimum of 18 years old.

 

- Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team setting.

 

- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job to include sitting, standing, and/or walking for extended periods, frequently working in a bent or squatting position. And carrying animals (ability to lift 40lbs on own).

  

 

Salary starting at $15.00 per hour, with increase consideration based on experience.
