Highway 24 Veterinary Clinic, located in a beautiful country setting, is looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant/Client Services Representative to join the team. We are an AAHA accredited clinic located in Guelph. We are a busy animal practice with 7 vets offering routine appointments, dental surgery, general surgery, laser therapy, digital radiographs, ultrasonography and much more.

The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional client service skills at all times to represent the organization and perform day-to-day operations of the clinic while consistently following the practice’s protocols to complete tasks. We strive to provide the best possible veterinary care available while practicing in a family atmosphere and employ a team approach. Must be comfortable working with dogs and cats.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Greet clients and animals
  • Educate and advise clients regarding services, products and practices
  • Admit and discharge pets from appointments and services and schedule follow-ups as needed
  • Communicate with clients in a clear, comprehensive, yet concise manner
  • Schedule appointments
  • Work alongside the veterinarian in the exam room throughout duration of appointment while assisting in animal handling, and preparing and reviewing documents and medical records accurately and completely.
  • Accurately updated and maintain client/pet records and file
  • Assisting clients with general information, appointments and invoicing
  • Various other administrative duties
  • Cleaning and maintaining tidy treatment and kennel areas.

The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills and able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support their team to reach common goals. Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of clients and other employees. A fundamental knowledge of windows based computer programs, with knowledge of the veterinary software (Cornerstone) is a plus. Ability to recognize and seek guidance in all client-related cases where protocol does not apply.

Previous veterinary clinic experience, particularly in animal handling protocols is required for consideration.
