Job Description
LeGallais Veterinary Hospital is looking to hire a part-time Client Care Representative/Vet Assistant to join our growing team. Our hospital has been an active member of the Aurora community for over 20 years, with a loyal client following. Our focus is to provide our clients with exceptional service and top notch veterinary care, while maintaining our warm and friendly atmosphere.
Our ideal candidate will possess a hard working attitude, excellent communication skills, friendly personality and be a motivated, flexible and energetic member of the team that can assist with various responsibilities within the hospital. The ideal candidate also needs to be compassionate and comfortable handling cats, dogs and some pocket pets/rabbits. Successful candidate must be able to work some evenings and every other weekend. Weekday shift times will vary slightly week to week.
Client Care Representative duties include providing an excellent and expeditious client experience; greeting clients, responding to questions; processing incoming and outgoing pets, and handling payments. Answering phone calls, which may involve answering questions, screening for service needs, and scheduling appointments. Handling of incoming and outgoing mail and e-mail. Monitoring hospital environments to ensure cleanliness. Documenting and maintaining client information, service data and other pertinent information within our business operations software (AviMark).
Vet Assistant duties include:
. Assisting with patient care and treatment
. Monitoring hospitalized pets / Monitor/aid in caring for animals after surgery
. Maintaining inventory and stocking
. Restraining animals during blood draws and nail trims
· Aiding with routine diagnostic tests (i.e. Taking radiographs, running bloodwork)
· Clean/Disinfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas of hospital
· Administering medications under Veterinarian/Vet Tech supervision
· Feeding/bathing animals
· Customer service
· Helping clients with their pets

Qualifications:
· Must be 18yrs old or older
· Must be a self-starter, able to multitask and a team player.
· Genuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain.
· Prefer 1+ years of experience, but not required.
· Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Work requires lifting, carrying and restraining animals (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40 lbs.). Should be able to lift 40lbs on own.
. Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent or squatting position.
. Is experienced in the teamwork approach and works well with all levels of hospital team members.
