Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

Care Animal Hospital

Job Description

Care Animal Hospital is a high-touch, full service veterinary hospital just south of Standley Lake in Arvada, Colorado. Care Animal Hospital has six fantastic full time doctors and while the majority of our patients are canine, feline, pocket pets, and exotics, we do see the occasional goat as well!

We are currently undergoing some construction while we expand our physical footprint so we can offer care to even more patients in the Arvada. While we have been a part of the community for 35 years, we still have potential to grow and are excited by the opportunity to do so!

Our focus for the staff is a community-centered feel of inclusion and support. We have a wonderful culture, carefully crafted by each individual team member, and ensured by the doctors and management team. Our team is very important to us and their flourishment is our top priority.

This position will ideally be a hybrid of Client Service Representative and Exam Room Assistant. The Client Service Representative is responsible for taking phone calls, monitoring our hospital email and text message inbox, scheduling clients, checking clients in and out for appointments or procedures, and handling cash drawers and reconciliations at the end of the night. The Exam Room assistant is responsible for taking medical histories and relaying said history to doctors, restraining patients for examination and procedures, handling lab samples, filling medications, and sending doctor communications to clients.

All interested applicants are encouraged to apply, even if one half the coin is not as appealing as the other. This position is flexible and does not necessarily need to be hybrid.

Previous experience is a bonus, but certainly not required. Any veterinary information or skills required for both sides of the position can be acquired during the training process.
