We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician Assistant/Receptionist to join our team and contribute to the health and well-being of the pets we serve.

 

**Position Overview:**  

The Veterinary Technician Assistant/Receptionist plays a dual role within our practice. You will assist veterinarians and technicians with various medical tasks while also managing the front desk operations. This role requires a balance of clinical support and administrative duties, ensuring smooth operations and excellent client service.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

 

*Veterinary Technician Assistant Duties:*

- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.

- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.

- Restrain animals safely and compassionately during procedures.

- Administer medications, vaccines, and other treatments as directed by the veterinarian.

- Collect and prepare laboratory samples, such as blood, urine, and feces.

- Assist with radiology and diagnostic imaging as needed.

- Monitor and care for hospitalized patients, including feeding, walking, and cleaning kennels.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

 

*Receptionist Duties:*

- Greet clients and patients with a warm and professional demeanor, ensuring a positive experience.

- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the clinic's calendar.

- Handle client inquiries and provide information about services, procedures, and products.

- Process payments, issue receipts, and manage billing inquiries.

- Maintain client and patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.

- Manage the cleanliness and organization of the reception area and lobby.

 

**Qualifications:**

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in veterinary technology or related fields is a plus.

- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Compassionate and caring attitude towards animals and their owners.

- Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with veterinary practice management software is a plus.

- Ability to lift and restrain animals safely.

 

**Working Conditions:**

- This role involves working in a dynamic and sometimes fast-paced environment.

- Physical demands include lifting and carrying animals, standing for extended periods, and occasional bending or kneeling.

- Exposure to animals of various sizes and temperaments, as well as to potential allergens.

  • The hourly range for this full or part-time position is $18-$25 hourly. Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
