Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center Veterinary Technician

Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center is looking for a small animal veterinary technician that is a self-motivated team player who communicates well with clients and staff, pays attention to detail, and demonstrates passion for the veterinary industry. Our small animal veterinary team is growing and a third DVM will be added to the team with a potential for extended hours in the future.

Education:

-Two years veterinary technician experience

Skills:

-Excellent communication skills

-Accurate record keeping of patient care, surgery, patient history, patient treatments, and diagnostics performed

-Present treatment plans and apply the proper charges for services

-Obtain and understand vitals, monitor anesthetic patients, and identify corrective actions for abnormal findings

-Obtain samples for laboratory analysis, proper radiograph techniques, and knowledgeable about radiation safety and PPE

-Understand and calculate common mediations and identify proper modes of administration

-Maintain proper cleaning and disinfecting protocols in all areas of the small animal clinic

-Review discharge instructions with client and provide accurate client education

-Be a team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
