Job Description Overview: 

As a Veterinary Assistant, you play a crucial role in supporting every department in our hospital, ensuring top-notch care for our patients and excellent service for our clients. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Assisting with patient care and treatments. 

  • Monitoring hospitalized pets and aiding in post-surgery care. 

  • Performing routine diagnostic tests (e.g., radiographs, bloodwork, fecal exams). 

  • Maintaining and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment. 

  • Restraining animals for procedures such as blood draws and nail trims. 

  • Administering medications under veterinarian or technician supervision. 

  • Feeding, bathing, and caring for animals. 

  • Cleaning and disinfecting cages, kennels, and hospital areas. 

  • Providing excellent customer service and assisting clients with their pets. 

  • Answering phones and supporting the reception team as needed. 

  • Maintaining inventory and stocking supplies.

Qualifications: 

  • Must be 18 years or older. 

  • A self-starter who is organized, able to multitask, and a true team player. 

  • Genuine love for animals and the ability to handle them compassionately, even in stressful situations. 

  • Preferably 1+ years of experience, but not required—we are happy to train the right candidate! 

  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting and restraining animals up to 40 lbs. (assistance provided for heavier animals). 

  • Comfortable standing or walking for extended periods and working in a bent or squatting position. 

  • Thrives in a teamwork-oriented environment and collaborates well with all hospital staff.
