Job Description

The Veterinary Assistant supports our veterinary team by ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients, clients, and staff. This role is heavily focused on maintaining hospital cleanliness and safely restraining animals during exams, treatments, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Safely restrain dogs and cats for exams, treatments, blood draws, and procedures.

·         Assist with patient handling and movement throughout the hospital.

·         Perform daily cleaning duties including disinfecting exam rooms, kennels, surgical areas, lobby, bathrooms, kitchen, and treatment spaces.

·         Take out all trash from indoor and outdoor receptacles

·         Wash, dry, and fold laundry; keep hospital stocked with clean bedding and towels.

·         Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.

·         Check in inventory and restock all areas of the hospital

·         Support veterinary technicians and doctors with basic patient care tasks.

Requirements:

·         Comfort working with animals of all sizes and temperaments.

·         Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

·         Willingness to work on your feet for extended periods.

·         Positive, team-oriented attitude and commitment to hospital cleanliness.

·         Attention to detail

·         Excellent attendance history
