Animal Care Clinic North is a caring and client-centered veterinary practice that provides high-quality, compassionate care for pets. We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support our mission to improve the health and well-being of animals through professional and empathetic service.


Position Summary:

The Veterinary Assistant plays a key support role within the veterinary team by assisting with animal care, maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment, and helping ensure smooth workflow throughout the hospital. This position is ideal for someone who loves animals, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to grow in the veterinary field.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during exams and procedures

  • Safely restrain animals during exams, treatments, and sample collection

  • Maintain cleanliness of the clinic and restock supplies as needed

  • Provide compassionate care and comfort to pets and their owners

  • Assist with the handling of medications and lab samples (under supervision)

  • Perform basic administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling, and checking in clients (if applicable)

  • Monitor and report changes in patient behavior or condition to veterinary staff


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED (required)

  • Previous experience in an animal care setting (preferred)

  • Strong love for animals and commitment to their care and well-being

  • Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately

  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions from veterinary staff

  • Good communication, organizational, and multitasking skill


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry animals and supplies up to 40 lbs

  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods

  • Exposure to loud noises, animal waste, and potentially aggressive animals
