Equine Veterinary Care, a dynamic and progressive equine sports medicine practice specializing in Thoroughbred and Performance horses, is seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic Equine Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Technician with legal work status and a strong equine background. About Us

We specialize in soundness and prepurchase examinations, poor-performance work-ups, advanced diagnostic imaging, and therapies for sport horses and Thoroughbreds. We also offer comprehensive wellness and medical care to our patients. Our practice provides a wide variety of advanced diagnostic and treatment modalities and offers both local ambulatory services and outpatient services at our clinic. We collaborate regularly with leading referral facilities in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with diagnostics, outpatient surgical procedures, and therapies in both clinic and ambulatory settings.
  • Provide support for advanced diagnostic imaging and therapies.
  • Offer exceptional care and handling for sport horses and racing Thoroughbreds.

Qualifications

  • Flexibility and ability to work well in a team.
  • Proficiency with computers and technology.
  • Excellent horsemanship and handling experience.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.

Location

Our outpatient clinic is based at the Fair Hill Training Center in Elkton, MD, which houses 750 racing Thoroughbreds. We provide intermediary care, including fluids for impaction colics, minor surgeries, and medical workups. Additionally, we offer specialized and individual care in an ambulatory setting to horses within a 45-minute radius in MD, PA, and DE.
