Veterinary Assistant 

Bogey Hills Animal Hospital is hiring a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant for our busy 3 doctor practice. We are looking for a friendly, outgoing professional who excels in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly, is passionate about animal care, and is a true team player.

Schedule: Mon-Fri. 4 day work week, rotating Saturdays 830a-2p

Key Responsibilities:

·        Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, and recovery.

·        Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion. Fear Free desired.

·        Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates

·        Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.

·        Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.

    • Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
    • Maintain & sterilize surgical instruments/equipment
    • Clean/Disinfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas of hospital
    • Answer phones, schedule appointments, follow up communications with clients
    • Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Qualifications:

·        At least 2 years of veterinary experience is required.

·        Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.

·        Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

·        Empathy: Ability to hold sensitive, emotional conversations with care.

·        Communication skills: Clear, professional, and compassionate interpersonal style.

·        Organization: Strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment.

·        Tech-savvy: Comfortable with digital tools, scheduling systems, and adapting to new platforms.
