Veterinary Assistant
South Shore Animal Hospital
Job Description
We’re Hiring: Experienced Veterinary Assistant 🐾
South Shore Animal Hospital is growing and we’re on the lookout for an experienced Veterinary Assistant who is just as passionate about cuddling animals as they are about providing compassionate, hands-on care! If you're someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves working with both pets and their people, and brings a calm, confident approach to patient care, we want you to join our team.
What We Offer:
- Competitive Pay & Benefits: $18-$22 and hour plus medical, dental, vision, and a matched 401(k) plan.
- Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a schedule that leaves you time for the things that matter most to you!
- Supportive Team Environment: Join a compassionate, collaborative group that believes in respect, teamwork, and learning from one another.
- Growth Opportunities: We’re committed to your professional development and helping you grow in your career.
What We’re Looking For:
- Excellent Patient Handling Skills: You’ll be working with pets who may be nervous or in pain, so your ability to handle them calmly and confidently is key.
- Initiative & Drive: You don’t just wait for direction—you proactively step in to help and ensure that things run smoothly.
- Compassion & Calmness: Pets and pet owners alike will feel at ease with your compassionate demeanor, even in high-stress situations.
- People Skills: You love working with people just as much as you love working with animals, and building relationships with both clients and colleagues.
- Experience: Previous veterinary assistant experience is preferred, ideally in a clinical or hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assist with exams, treatments, and procedures while ensuring pets are comfortable and well-cared for.
- Client Communication: Educate pet owners on care plans, treatment options, and wellness procedures.
- Clinic Support: Help with inventory management, sterilization, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside veterinarians and other team members to provide the best care possible for every patient.
If you're an experienced Veterinary Assistant with a passion for animals, a calm approach to patient care, and the ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!
