We are a full-service veterinary care facility for dogs and cats, dedicated to client service and patient care. We are in search of someone who shares our commitment, to join our team. If you are motivated, with great time-management skills, and are outgoing and detail oriented, you might be the right person! You’ll play an important role in bringing comfort to our furry patients and ensuring the smooth running of our facility. We’ll rely on you to assist the veterinarian in examinations and operations. Do you love animals? Then you’re halfway there. You need the ability to care for them properly – that’s one of the most important Vet Assistant job requirements. If you’re organized, quick on your feet and have the stomach to help with medical operations and euthanasia, we’d like to meet you.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant or similar position working with animals
  • Current or former pet ownership is an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, doctors, and team members
  • Patient and caring personality
  • Computer skills and ability to manage medical records - knowledge of AviMark software is a plus but not required
  • Ability to follow instructions properly
  • Comfortable being around animals (cats and dogs)
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g. lift up to 40 lbs)

This is a full time position; shifts may vary, but the hours covered by the assistant team are 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday and 7:30 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday. (Candidate must be available to work at least two Saturdays per month.) Previous experience in an animal hospital or animal-centric environment strongly preferred; a love of animals is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
