Cary Veterinary Hospital, a small animal general practice in Cary, NC, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our collaborative and compassionate team!

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of experience in veterinary medicine and a solid understanding of:

· Animal restraint and safe handling

· Outpatient and inpatient care

· Running minor laboratory tests (fecals, UA, cytology prep, etc.)

· Assisting veterinarians and technicians during exams and treatments

· Preparing treatment areas and cleaning/sterilizing instruments

· Providing excellent client communication and patient care

You’ll also help with:

· Administering medications (oral and topical)

· Taking patient vitals and recording accurate medical notes

· Preparing patients for surgery

· Maintaining a clean and organized hospital environment

· Occasionally assisting with phones, scheduling, and client communication

What We’re Looking For:

· Minimum 1–2 years of veterinary assistant experience

· Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-player mindset

· Excellent communication skills and a positive, adaptable attitude

· Compassion for both pets and their people

· Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to our Fear Free culture

Compensation & Schedule:

$17–$20/hr, depending on experience

4-day work week with rotating Saturdays
