Veterinary Assistant – Full Time Position

 

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians and technicians in the care and treatment of animals, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and provide excellent customer service to pet owners. This position requires a passion for animal care, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with the care and treatment of animals, including preparing animals for examinations and procedures.
  • Restrain animals during blood draws, nail trims, etc.
  • Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and cleaning examination rooms.
  • Set up for and assist with anesthetic procedures.
  • Assist with laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.
  • Maintain inventory and stocking.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a veterinary assistant program is desirable.
  • Previous experience working with animals in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards animals and their owners.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including rotating weekends.
