Job Description

The community of Lake Stevens is growing and so is our clinic. We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant with a passion for quality medical care and being part of a fast paced clinic.

Our Veterinary Assistant's main responsibility is to assist the veterinarian during examination of animals, providing restraint as needed in order to work safely and effectively. The position requires a practical knowledge of the clinic’s procedures and policies. The Veterinary Assistant is expected to perform duties related to patient care and treatment and to assist doctors as needed. This is a full time position; scheduled days and hours may vary based on hospital need. Weekend work is possible. This position may require standing for long periods of time and some heavy lifting may be involved. The Veterinary Assistant is the entire team's primary support. Every department relies on their significant role in aiding with a variety of services to provide excellent client and patient care.

 

Skills:

* Excellent communication skills

* Ability to effectively handle and control aggressive animals

* Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in a veterinary clinic environment, including the use of euthanasia

* Models a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients

* Must have active listening, critical thinking, complex problem solving, time management, judgement and decision making skills

 

Education/Experience

* High school degree

* Veterinary assistant certificaton 

 

Pay Range $18.00- $21.00 depending on education and experience.
