Job Description

We’re looking for a compassionate, dependable Veterinary Assistant to support our hospital’s daily workflow and help provide exceptional care to our patients. The ideal candidate is a fast learner, detail-oriented, able to work independently, and passionate about maintaining a safe, clean, and caring environment for pets and their families.

 

Key Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Assist with patient care, handling, and safe restraint

  • Support veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and procedures

  • Aiding with routine diagnostic tests (i.e taking radiographs, running bloodwork, submitting labwork)
  • Maintain hospital cleanliness, including exam rooms, treatment areas, cages, and equipment

  • Stock supplies, maintain and sterilize instruments, and communicate effectively with clients

  • May cross-train as a CSR, including answering phones, scheduling, and checking clients in and out

Qualifications:
-Must be 18yrs old or older
-Has the ability to take direction while working with others to collaboratively perform the job duties
-Genuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain.
-Prefer 1+ years of experience, but not required.
-Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Work requires lifting, carrying and restraining animals (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40 lbs.). Should be able to lift 40lbs on own.
-Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent or squatting position.
