Come to Northeast Ohio and join the Cardiology Service at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital.

We are excited to expand our 4-doctor, 1-resident Cardiology Service and are actively seeking a Board-Certified or Residency-Trained Cardiologist to join our dynamic, collaborative team.

Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital is a Specialty and Emergency Referral Facility with hospitals in Akron and Highland Heights (Cleveland), Ohio.

For over 50 years, the Metropolitan Veterinary group has provided specialty and emergency care with an established reputation for delivering the “Gold Standard” of veterinary medicine.


 Metro Cardiology Team

  • Join an established and growing cardiology service with a 21-year presence in the Akron and Cleveland communities
  • Partner with 4 ACVIM Boarded Cardiologists who are committed to collaborative and progressive medical and interventional care with a staff [CS1] [LH2] of committed veterinary technicians including a VTS in Cardiology, veterinary assistants, and dedicated client service personnel.
  • Perform interventional procedures including pacemaker implantation, balloon valvuloplasty, and patent ductus arteriosus occlusions with fluoroscopic and TEE guidance
  • Collaborate daily with a busy emergency service and specialists in Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Exotics.
  • Work in a supportive, team-oriented environment where collegiality and mentorship are valued
  • Participate in service and hospital-wide rounds, joint rounds with other NVA cardiologists, collaborative case discussions, and ample teaching opportunities for interns, residents, veterinary students and local veterinarians.

  • Currently finishing construction of our new Cardiology suite
  • Two dedicated GE E95 echocardiographs
  • State-of-the-art ICU, private isolation suites, fluoroscopy suite, and two digital radiography units
  • CT, MRI, ultrasound, laparoscopy, endoscopy, mechanical ventilation, Snyder oxygen cages, Hi-Flow oxygen, telemetry
  • Comprehensive in-house laboratory
  • Onsite 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care coverage for comprehensive case collaboration

Metro Akron:

  • Spacious 24,000 sq. ft. facility,
  • Currently designing our new Internal Medicine and Cardiology suites
  • Two dedicated echocardiographs – GE E95 and Philips Epiq - and a transesophageal echo probe
  •  Fluoroscopy suite, ICU and two digital radiography units
  • CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, laparoscopy, endoscopy, telemetry
  • In-house regional Idexx laboratory
  • Onsite 24/7 Emergency with Critical Care consultation for comprehensive case collaboration
