Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii (VERC) is looking for a criticalist to join their dynamic and growing team. 

     VERC is an advanced 24-hour veterinary emergency and specialty hospital. Our dedicated board-certified specialists and highly-trained emergency professionals provide a collaborative approach to veterinary medicine. Supported by our newly built state-of-the-art facility and advanced diagnostic equipment including ultrasound, endoscopy, digital radiography, 128-slice CT scan, the state’s first veterinary MRI, fluoroscopy, and in-house laboratory, we offer the most comprehensive and progressive patient care on the Hawaiian Islands. Our exceptional staff includes specialists in critical care, internal medicine, neurology, surgery, oncology, and radiology, as well as experienced emergency veterinarians.

     The successful candidate for the position of Criticalist will be a residency trained or board-certified Criticalist, motivated, and energetic. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing hospitalized patients, seeing incoming emergency patients, participating in technician training, providing support to other departments and developing/overseeing ICU protocols. We are looking for someone who fits in well with our team, stays up to date with changing medical guidance in their field, and has strong communication and interpersonal skills. We emphasize a collaborative approach to medicine and our specialists, emergency doctors, technicians, and client care staff work very closely together with our referring veterinarians to provide great care to our patients and their human companions.

     Our newly built 17,250 square foot facility with a dedicated ICU is further equipped with a VCM Vet Analyzer, high flow nasal oxygen, an internal blood bank, and telemetry. We also have two VTS-ECC on staff.
