Veterinary Criticalist
Charleston Veterinary Referral Center (CVRC)
Job Description
Charleston Veterinary Referral Center is seeking a Criticalist to join our growing team!
Our facility is located in beautiful Charleston SC, the heart of the Lowcountry. We recently completed a major expansion, doubling our footprint to 32,000 square feet, including significant upgrades to our ICU, now one of the most equipped and advanced areas of the hospital.
The hospital features a full in-house lab, 16-slice helical CT, high-field MRI, EMG, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, endoscopy, in-house blood bank, and a top-tier intensive care unit with mechanical ventilation capabilities. Our equipment also includes remote telemetry, high-flow nasal oxygen, and a custom crib for optimal critical patient care.
We were awarded Veterinary Economics Hospital Conversion of the Year in 2012, achieved VECCS Level 1 Certification in 2014, were awarded Ethos' World Class Medicine award in 2023, and Ethos' Visionary Award in 2024.
CVRC is home to a robust group of experienced ER doctors, as well as specialists in Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Anesthesiology, and Physical Rehabilitation. Our support staff is highly trained, including several VTS certified technicians in various specializations, with more in progress. We pride ourselves on a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach for patients, empathy and patience for clients, availability and responsiveness for our referral community, and care and respect for our own team members.
We are hoping to add another outstanding member to our Critical Care team to optimize service coverage and flexibility. Our Critical Care team fosters a positive and collegial environment, both within the service and across the hospital. We primarily manage ECC cases while collaborating supportively with the other specialties and the Emergency service.
We are seeking an individual who is passionate about practicing the highest quality medicine, strives for excellence, communicates effectively, and approaches patients, clients, and team members with compassion and empathy. Our leadership team is deeply committed to supporting our clinicians and maintaining a culture where team members are valued both professionally and personally.
We offer an excellent compensation and benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, pet insurance, paid time off, a sign-on bonus, CE contributions, and a 401(k) with company match.
Charleston is consistently ranked among the top relocation and vacation destinations in the United States, offering miles of beaches, abundant outdoor activities, vibrant cultural events, and unmatched historic charm. It is also exceptionally pet-friendly, with one of the highest rates of pet ownership in the country.
