Job Description


Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) is currently seeking a fourth Criticalist to join us in our state-of-the-art 60,000 SF facility.  Work with the best!  GCVS values innovation and individuality at the practice level while recognizing the power of collaboration.   We are looking for an individual who shares our passion for advancing critical care medicine. 


GCVS currently has specialty practices in Surgery, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Diagnostic Imaging, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Dermatology and Allergy, Avian and Exotics, and Anesthesiology. In addition to the specialty services, GCVS operates a 24/7/365 emergency service within the specialty hospital. With a 3 T MRI, 128 slice CT, a Varian Halcyon radiation therapy system capable of advanced radiation therapy modalities as well as an Interventional Radiology Suite and a fully equipped ICU we have all the toys you need.


Our critical care support staff is highly skilled and genuinely cares about each other and their patients. We have 24/7 care for hospitalized patients, continuous ECG/pulse oximetry monitoring, high flow oxygen capability, nasal and Snyder cage oxygen therapy, HBOT therapy, as well as blood product and plasma transfusion therapy. A full-service in-house laboratory allows for immediate results to include complete blood counts, manual differentials, chemistry profiles, PT/PTT testing, urinalysis, and multiple SNAP tests ie BNP, cortisol, cPLI, etc. 


We enjoy the camaraderie between specialists that a large practice affords, and support each other in the pursuit of practicing the highest quality veterinary medicine. Additionally, we have an active intern program, and there are abundant opportunities to interact with the general practitioners in the area through monthly rounds meetings and our annual symposium.
