Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Lathrop Veterinary Center

Job Description

Lathrop Veterinary Center, the first veterinary hospital in Lathrop, California, is a modern small animal practice led by UC Davis alumna Dr. Cathy Wallace. Since 2008, we've provided advanced, compassionate care while building lasting relationships with pets and their families.

Our collaborative, team-oriented environment supports professional growth and high-quality medicine. During an NVA externship, students gain hands-on clinical experience by working alongside Dr. Wallace and the medical team in patient exams, diagnostics, treatment planning, dentistry, surgery, medical case management, and client communication while gaining insight into the day-to-day operations of a thriving practice.
Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships at Lathrop Veterinary Center are designed for 3rd and 4th year students.

Veterinary students who are in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. The stipend amount for Lathrop Veterinary Center is $1,000.
