Veterinary Student Externship – Memorial Cat Hospital

Take your clinical education to the next level with a hands-on externship at Memorial Cat Hospital, where our entire practice is dedicated exclusively to feline patients. Located in a warm and welcoming environment, our hospital is part of the NVA (National Veterinary Associates) network and shares a common mission: to support the next generation of veterinarians through mentorship, collaboration, and high-quality medicine.

You’ll see a wide variety of internal medicine, dental, and surgical cases, along with opportunities to develop your skills in low-stress handling, diagnostics, and client communication.

Externship Highlights:

  • One-on-one mentorship from feline-focused DVMs

  • Patient history-taking and physical exam skills

  • Diagnostic interpretation and treatment plan development

  • Dental procedures and soft tissue surgery (observation and hands-on based on experience)

📍 Location: Memorial Cat Hospital
🕒 Duration: minimum 2 weeks, up to 4 weeks, depending on hospital and student availability
🎓 Open to: 3rd and 4th year veterinary students
💵 Travel/Living Expense Stipend: Available for students in their clinical year
