Champion Wood Animal Hospital has proudly served the Spring, TX community since 1994. We're a busy, small animal hospital with a long-tenured, welcoming support team and a strong commitment to high-quality, compassionate care. We treat every pet like family and strive to help them live long, healthy lives.

Externs will work closely with our Medical Director, known for her passion for mentorship and clinical development. This is a fantastic opportunity for students seeking close, personalized guidance in a fast-paced, high-touch general practice setting.

Externship Highlights:

  • Participate in physical exams, diagnostics, and treatment planning

  • Assist with or perform surgical procedures (as appropriate to skill level)

  • Gain hands-on experience in dentistry and preventive care

  • Exposure to a wide range of medical cases

  • Practice client communication and team collaboration

  • Learn about the operations of a successful small practice

This externship offers an in-depth look at the daily life of a small animal veterinarian in a real-world, high-volume clinic, where every student is actively involved in patient care.

Program Details:

๐Ÿ•’ Duration: minimum 2 weeks, up to 4 weeks (flexible depending on availability)
๐ŸŽ“ Open to: 3rd- and 4th-year veterinary students
๐Ÿ’ต Stipend: Up to $2,000 for clinical-year students (travel/living expenses)
