Job Description

Pharmacy Technicians are a vital part of Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital. Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for dispensing medications as well as supplies for the hospital in order to maintain excellent veterinary care. Experience is preferred. Our Pharmacy Technician team works together with doctors to dispense medications and also interacts closely with our clients to explain all medications thoroughly.

Our Pharmacy team performs various tasks such as filling medications for clients and hospital patients, educating clients on medications and answering any questions asked, filling out medication request forms and getting approval by doctor for refills, accurately noting communications and medication information in each patient’s medical record, educating clients on heartworm/flea & tick preventatives and various other tasks that include: Answering incoming telephone calls using proper telephone etiquette as defined by Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital. Maintaining accurate medical records. Accurately process payments which includes, cash, credit cards, checks, submitting Trupanion claims, and Care Credit. Maintain online refill requests for clients and patients. Schedule appointments for exams and bloodwork as needed patients. Dispensing supplies for hospital.
