Bracebridge Animal Hospital, located in the picturesque Bracebridge Muskoka—surrounded by stunning lakes and forests—is seeking a full-time Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant to join our AAHA-accredited companion animal hospital. Our focus is on providing top-notch care to dogs, cats, exotics, and small mammals with the highest caliber of medication and technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional and prompt client service.
  • Greet clients curbside and handle incoming calls.
  • Process pet admissions and discharges, including invoicing and prescriptions.
  • Answer phone calls, address medical questions, screen service needs, and schedule appointments.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and email.
  • Document and maintain client information and service data using business operations software.
  • Facilitate medical prescriptions and assist with medication administration and pet restraint for procedures.
  • Ensure all areas of the clinic are stocked and maintained, including the pharmacy, treatment, and surgery areas.
  • Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties, including daily laundry.
  • Maintain and sterilize surgical equipment (cleaning and autoclaving).
  • Clean cages and runs, and ensure proper identification of pets in confinement.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a veterinary clinic is required.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations professionally, with empathy for both people and animals.
  • Comfortable using POS software systems (AVImark preferred), Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 30 lbs independently and standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with all levels of hospital staff.
